People often ask me, when they find out I am a pastor, "In today's world, what does church even mean anymore? Does it all really matter?"
In the pages of this site, I believe you will find part of the answer to those questions. Within the photos of smiling faces of the people of our congregation and the ministries we share, we find many of the reasons being the church matters - it is the relationships that are formed and nurtured throughout our lives that bring meaning to us. When we gather to worship, celebrate the Sacraments, share meals, study God's Word, work together, and serve the community, our faith grows and we are encouraged as followers of Jesus in the world yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
Our worship style is a mixture of traditional as well as trying new ways of being the church through music, preaching and teaching. I invite the children for a scripture based story that is prepared just for them. Child care is also available in a staffed child care room in our lower level for infants through early elementary ages.
It is my hope that if you are searching for a spiritual home for yourself, or for your family, you will contact me, join us for worship, or attend another event at First Congregational United Church of Christ.
As part of our ministry with the community of De Pere, our building is available for meetings or family gatherings. A building use form is needed, which is available via email or in person. I am available for pastoral care, home visits, pastoral counseling, weddings, and memorial services. Email or call me through the contact page.
"Whoever you are and where ever you are on life's journey, you are welcome here."
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Nancy Zorn Micke
